Water Therapy:

Importance of water

We all know that water is important, to keep us alive. But, how much water do we need?

Most, about 75% of all Americans are chronically dehydrated. This fact also applies to about half of the world population. In about 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak, that it is often mistaken for hunger. Even mild dehydration will slow down your metabolism, as much as 3%. One glass of water in the evening, can shut down the midnight hunger pangs, for almost all of the dieters, in a study at the University of Washington.

Lack of water is the #1 cause of daytime fatigue, in the work place. This also applies to the workout place. After all, if fatigue sets in, the workout training stops.

Preliminary studies show that drinking 64 ounces of water a day can significantly ease back and joint pain, for up to 80% of those sufferers. A mere 2% drop in body water, can trigger fuzzy short term memory, trouble with basic math. and difficulty focusing on the computer screen, or a printed page. Drinking 64 ounces of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%. It can also decrease the risk of breast cancer by 79%. You would also cut your risk of getting bladder cancer by 50%.

The following is from Dr. Majid Ali's Web site.

"The human body is a water pond in which float all human cells. When a drought lowers the water level in a pond, all pond life suffers; many life forms die. Chronic dehydration does the same to human tissues and cells. This is not melodrama. It is a simple truth."
